Fire Rating:

In General, Optical Fiber Cables meet three different cables Fire Rating

OFNP - Cables meeting Type OFNP requirements are capable of being installed in ducts and plenums without the use of conduit.
These cables pass the modified Steiner Tunnel Test (UL910). and are designed for fire-resistance and low-smoke producing characteristics.

LSZH - Also called LSFROH, the Low Smoke/Zero Halogen rating is a European standard that is gaining popularity in Asia and the Americas as well.

OFNR - Riser type cables passing the UL 1666 test are engineered to prevent the spread of fire from floor to floor and are Suitable for vertical shaft applications.

CSA-While the National Building Code of Canada is rapidly changing, many provinces require Optical Fiber Cables to be approved as FT-6 or FT-4 and CC is pleased to offer cables certified as FT-6 or FT-4 by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). Plenum cables passing the FT-6 Horizontal Flame and Smoke Test as Optical Fiber Nonconductive Cables are designated as OFN FT-6 by CSA and are so noted. OFN Cables bearing the FT-4 rating are certified for use in non-combustible construction as required by the National Building Code of Canada or regional jurisdictions. Cables bearing both flame test ratings are suitable for use in either application.
